Time Manipulation Types
REVERSE: Restore collapsed structures, undo mistakes
FORWARD: Accelerate deterioration, make enemies die of old age in moments
STOP: Create temporary platforms/barriers, stop bullets in midair
SLOW: Buy time during combat and other tense situations, prevent injury from falling
WARP: Bend spacetime to “teleport” objects/people/yourself to the safety of Haven
Strategic Applications
EXPLORATION:
Identify possible points of interest
Create temporary platforms
Restore broken pathways
Break new paths through deterioration
Safe landing zones
COMBAT:
Create hazards for enemies
Remove enemy cover/platforms
Set up environmental traps
Create tactical advantages
Prevent taking damage
RESCUE:
Locate and save people, animals, resources and cultural artifacts
Return the player to safety, ending their current expedition
Limited Time
The player begins an expedition with a certain amount of Time that ticks down as they explore. When the player runs out of Time, the area will destabilize and disintegrate into the timestream, and the player will be forced to Warp back to Haven.
The player can spend Time to use their Time manipulation abilities. This deducts from the Time remaining on the current expedition.
Time manipulation abilities can be unlocked and improved over the course of the game.
Certain Jinn can have beneficial or detrimental effects on the player’s Time resource and the cost of their abilities.
